Active Listening.

One of the basic characteristics that a person should have is active listening. Active listening along with proper communication plays a major role in problem solving in any kind of an environment. It is not helpful for us to just express our problems and issues. More important is that we pay proper attention to the feedback that we get since it helps in solving the crisis that we are facing. Listening intently to the person who is communicating to us is important since active listening can lead us to a different stage. Only when we listen and when we communicate back, we get to know about the various factors involved with an issue. One of the other reasons for which we have to actively listen is that, the person communicating with us should not feel unimportant. When a person is communicating a message to you, when you seem to show no interest in that, then the other person tends to feel unwanted. In order to have a good rapport with people, it is important to listen and reflect back.
